In My Dreams...

She breathes in my dreams and lives on my pages-
No matter how I rearrange these words-
She is no closer in my world...

In my dreams she laughs at my jokes-
And places her hand on my shoulder-
For the first time I understand the word partner...

Love exudes in all directions -
Bright Lights-
Still there is no need to squint...
Of all the things I've ever dreamt -
For once her wish was me-
I was needed but I needed her more-
No longer reckless in love-
I continue as her protector...

When I awake-
I am miles away-
But by the end of the day-
I have worked my way back into her world.
